Laos - Lao press hails President Sang’s visit

All Lao dailies on Feb. 9 carried portraits and a biography of Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang on their front pages, hailing his official visit to Laos from Feb. 9-11.

In its editorial, the Pasaxon daily of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party said the visit takes place as the Lao people are implementing Resolutions of the 9th Party Congress and during Laos-Vietnam Friendship Year, to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples have been a great heritage and have inspired development of the two nations. Those relations are decisive factors for victories of each country, the editorial said.

It added that the ties have been constantly developed and fruitful in all fields, bringing practical benefits to the people in both countries.

Exchanges of visits by leaders and officials of States, sectors and localities contributed to boosting cooperation between the two Governments, enhancing trust and friendship between the two peoples.

The newspaper expects that President Sang’s visit will be successful in bringing Laos-Vietnam traditional relations to a new height, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The same day, other newspapers carried articles on the Vietnamese people and land, as well as their achievements in every field.
