Some foreign tourists say local travel companies are offering too many tours to natural and historical attractions and too little entertainment.
Of the little entertainment that these companies do offer in their tours, martial art shows make up the greatest part.
But for foreign tourists like Rich Perry from the US, these shows have “too much dialogue, last too long and lack interactivity.”
T, director of a big travel agency in Ho Chi Minh City admitted his company found it hard to design entertainment tours for foreigners.
Last year, his company had to turn down a 200-tourist delegation because it couldn’t satisfy their requirements.
The delegation asked for accommodation at a five-star hotel and a 2-hour-show featuring Vietnamese traditional arts on a professional stage.
“We could find the accommodation but couldn’t find such a show in such a short time,” T. said, adding his company had to recommend a Thai travel agency to the delegation.
