Nhan Dan – The National Hospital of Endocrinology began construction of its high-tech treatment building in Tu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi, on September 22 with a total investment of VND 162 billion (US$7.8 million).

The nine-storey building with 18,000 square metres of total usable area will be a modern treatment centre with comprehensive facilities and services allowing the hospital to provide high-quality medical examinations and treatment for patients with endocrine diseases and metabolic disorders.

It is part of the VND 187.7 billion (US$9 million) project to construct a new 400-bed National Hospital of Endocrinology which will have a total usable area of 34,280 square metres.

The old Hospital of Endocrinology, located in Dong Da district, is inadequate and overloaded and able to provide only 50 beds.

Currently, the five-storey examination building of the new hospital is in the process of being completed and it is expected to be put into operation this December.
