A British university Friday closed a deal with a Vietnamese property developer to build its main campus in the northern province of Hung Yen.
The British University Vietnam (BUV), currently based in Hanoi, will accordingly spend US$40 million on the 6.5 hectare campus comprising such components as lecture halls, a research area, and a sports complex, among others.
The school says those facilities will meet UK requirements for a quality higher education institution. The university will be able to admit around 10,000 students when the campus is completed, it adds.
Vihajico, the developer, says the first phase of the construction will be completed by 2014 and cost half of the total investment.
BUV is a foreign-owned school which was licensed on September last year.
It provides academic courses in finance-banking, international business administration, marketing management, and others which are certified by the UK’s London University and Staffordshire University.
