Vietnam - Hanoi to raise funds for child patients

An annual charitable run titled “Run for Children” will be held in Hanoi on December 4 to raise funds for children who are going through treatment in hospitals around the city.

The run will take place around Thien Quang Lake under the collaboration of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Canada Embassy in Vietnam, Manulife Vietnam and KAT Corporation.

It will be open to all people who are also encouraged to buy T-shirts, food, gifts and souvenirs sold by organizers to donate to the fund. All proceeds will be used for helping children under cancer and heart disease treatment.

The run was first launched in 2000 and it has so far attracted the participation of 50,000 people who donated up to VND4 billion (US$190,500).

Last Sunday, the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Canadian International School, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, and the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations organized the 15th Terry Fox Run in District 7’s Phu My Hung.
