Japan - Japanese firms keen to transfer technology to Vietnam

A group of small businesses from the Japanese cities of Kawasaki and Tsubame expressed their desire to transfer technology to Vietnam at a seminar to promote investment in support industry in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on February  17.

Those businesses include micro firms that employ only one dozen workers but possess modern technologies for producing spare parts used in mobile phones, planes and automobiles.

They are seeking partners in Vietnam as a way to cope with rising material and production costs in Japan.

At the event, the businesses asked many questions about investment procedures and land rent in the province.

The provincial leader pledged to create the most favourable conditions for investors, adding that the locality is planning to develop support industry in the near future.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau has zoned the construction of a support industry complex designed exclusively for Japanese investors.
