JAKARTA - The Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda)
said on Tuesday it would allow public transportation operators to increase
their fares by 35 per cent should the government insist on increasing fuel
prices by between 5 and 15 per cent on April 1.
Eka Sari Lorena, The Organization of Land Transportation Owners
(Organda) chairwoman, said the measure had been taken to prevent transportation
companies from going bankrupt.
The organization also recommended a 30 per cent increase in logistics
service costs following the implementation of the fuel price policy, Organda
secretary general Ardiansyah added.
