VietNamNet Bridge – This special letter is being preserved in the best condition, in a strictly confidential status and will be opened in October 2110, 100 years after it was written.

The Hanoi authorities on March 30 handed over the “Letter for the Future” to the National Archive Center III for preservation, to send to the future generation the thought and wishes of the current government and people of Hanoi on developing cultural and historical values of Thang Long-Hanoi’s 1000 years.

The “Letter for Future” is part of activities to celebrate Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary, which was performed by the Hanoi People’s Committee, at the agreement of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The letter was compiled by Hanoi’s Party Secretary Pham Quang Nghi and experts. This is also the message showing the gratefulness of Hanoi people to the ancestor and the sentiments, the pride of Hanoians in particular and Vietnamese in general to the future generation.

The letter is placed inside a bronze-made painting.

The Letter for the Future is carved on a bronze piece (102x65cm), including 1,000 words.
