
According to the Department of
Education and Training, public pre-schools in inner-city districts will collect
VND50,000 per student and their counterparts in suburban districts will charge
VND30,000 per school-going child.
Students of primary schools are
exempt from tuition fees, while junior high school students will pay VND15,000
for inner-city district schools and VND10,000 for suburban district schools.
Senior high school students will
be charged VND30,000 and VND25,000 for inner-city and suburban schools while
students at gifted senior high schools will have to pay VND45,000.
The guidelines also mention
self-financing pre-schools in inner-city districts who will collect VND250,000
per student and their counterparts in suburban districts will charge VND200,000
per child.
Students of primary schools will
be charged VND80,000 and VND70,000 for inner-city and suburban districts while
junior high school students will pay VND90,000 for inner-city district schools
and VND80,000 for suburban district schools. Senior high school students will
be charged VND110,000 and VND90,000 for inner-city and suburban schools
respectively.
Furthermore, tuition fee for two
study shifts will be VND30,000 for a primary student, VND40,000 for a junior
high school student and VND50,000 for a senior school student.
Fee for foreign language
education will be VND50,000 for a primary student, VND60,000 for a junior high
school student and VND70,000 for a senior school student.
Apart from this, senior high
schools Le Quy Don, Nguyen Hien and Nguyen Du will collect tuition fee
according to new regulations.
Tenth grade students will pay
VND890,000 per month, eleventh graders will pay VND850,000 per month and
twelfth graders VND900,000 per month. The People’s Committee will consider the
tuition fee level for three special schools.
Policies for exemption of tuition
fees will apply to poor students and beneficiaries of social welfare.
All schools are asked to supply
details of tuition fees on school notice boards for all parents to see, and
provide receipts for all fees and charges. Schools are prohibited from spending
contributions made by parents on teaching and learning activities or awards for
staffs.
