Vietnam - Faculty of Political Science established at USSH

Nhan Dan – A ceremony to announce the establishment of a Faculty of Political Science was held on September 27 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH).

USSH is the first tertiary educational institution in Vietnam to offer graduate and post-graduate programmes in political science.

The Faculty of Political Education, headed by Professor Phung Huu Phu, consists of four divisions: Political Theory, Ho Chi Minh Studies, Vietnamese Politics and World Politics.

At the ceremony, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member and Head of the Commission for Communication and Education, said he anticipates the faculty will be a high-quality training centre providing qualified personnel for the Party, State and social organisations.

The predecessor of the new faculty was the Division of Political Science, set up in 1995.
