Ho
Chi Minh City always creates favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese who
want to do business in the city, Hua Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the municipal
People’s Committee, told a delegation of overseas Vietnamese journalists
yesterday.
In response to a delegate who repeated a
common belief among overseas Vietnamese that it is easier to bring money to
Vietnam than to take money out of it, Thuan said HCMC hadn’t received any
complaint from foreign investors about the difficulties they face in remitting
their profits out of Vietnam.
At the meeting, Thuan also updated the
delegation about the overseas Vietnamese investors who have been investing in
Vietnam, HCMC’s social and economic development and social security programs,
as well as government policies on overseas Vietnamese and citizenship issues.
The delegation will visit several press
agencies such as Tuoi Tre, Sai Gon Giai Phong, Thanh Nien and HCMC Television
today.
