Darussalam is enhancing its surveillance system on infectious diseases and
strengthening laboratory capacity for diagnosis and confirmation of the
diseases, while maintaining high immunisation coverage, said Minister of Health
at the 3rd OIC (Organisation of the Islamic Conference) Health Ministers
Conference in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The conference was aimed at discussing ways to
boost joint cooperation in areas of healthcare services and exchange of
expertise and health professionals.
In a press statement issued by the ministry
yesterday, Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan
Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Mohd Yusof said that the provision of

achieved most of the goals related to health by 2015 and that the Sultanate
will continue and is committed to strengthen and improve the quality of healthcare
for its people, the statement said.
