Malaysia - Transport Minister of Singapore visits Malaysia

SINGAPORE: Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Lui Tuck Yew, will be making an introductory visit to Malaysia on Tuesday.

The Transport Ministry said the visit is to build on relations with Malaysia.

Mr Lui will be meeting his counterpart, Mr Kong Cho Ha and other top Malaysian leaders Mr Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Minister in The Prime Minister's Department, Economic Planning Unit; Dr Rais Yatim, Minister of Information, Communications and Culture.

He will also be discussing transport issues with the Chairman, Land Public Transport Commission Mr Syed Hamid Albar.

The Transport Ministry said Singapore and Malaysia have co-operated well on the transport front.

Both countries have expanded air links and are working on a Rapid Transit System Link between Singapore and Johor Baru to improve connectivity. 

Mr Lui will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Transport during his visit.
