Two
trade missions from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands will arrive in
Vietnam next week in a bid to sound out trade and investment opportunities with
domestic firms.
Representatives from 12 companies will be participating
in the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (LCCI) trade mission to
Vietnam from November14-18. The trade mission, being sponsored by Harvey Nash
plc and supported by UK Trade & Investment, will be led by Paul Smith,
Harvey Nash’s executive chairman.
The deputy mission leader will be Peter
Bishop, LCCI’s deputy chief and chairman of the International Chamber of
Commerce/World Chambers Federation ATA Carnet Council.
The mission will begin in Ho Chi Minh City
from November 14 -16 and then Hanoi November17-18 . Networking receptions will
be held by the British Consulate General on the 14th November and at the
Ambassador’s Residence in Hanoi on the 17th November.
Companies on the mission will promote a wide
range of products, including agricultural products, machinery, laboratory
equipment, and such services as education and training, recruitment, marketing
consultancy, operational management systems and trade finance.
Another trade mission from the Netherlands’
Limburg Chamber of Commerce will begin its first visit to Ho Chi Minh City from
November 16-19 to seek business opportunities for Dutch companies from local
partners, according to the Netherlands’ Consulate General.
The delegation includes representatives of
Dutch companies in the field of financial and investment, business management
consultancy, real estate and construction development and management, food and
animal feed processing, education, power generation and fashion.
Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City on 16 November
from Kuala Lumper as the second destination on a trip to the South East Asian
region, the delegation will conduct a number of activities to explore possible
trade and investment prospects in the commercial hub of the country.
The trade mission will visit Dutch and
international manufacturing factories in Ho Chi Minh City and the surrounding
areas and have individual match making program arranged in advance.
The Netherlands consulate general in Ho Chi Minh
City will organise an economic briefing and a networking reception for the
delegates to gain a better understanding on business norms and practices in
Vietnam, and enlarge their contact networks.
The Netherlands remains one of the leading
European investors in Vietnam with trade relations between the two countries
continuously growing proven by the year-on-year growth in two-way trade.
