India - Knowledge sharing is key to sail in emerging economies



CEOs, Top academicians including Harvard professors, and industry experts believe that sharing knowledge among developed and developing countries is the key to tackle challenges in emerging economies like India.

The forum discussed on contemporary issues in Knowledge Globalization that influence Business, Education, Government, Society, and the Economy.

The distinguished speakers shared their corporate mantras to cope with the challenges of emerging economies at ‘Knowledge Globalization Conference 2012′ (KGC) organised by Foundation for Liberal and Management Education (FLAME) at Pune recently.

The Symposium brought together Researchers and Practitioners from across the globe to deliberate on ‘Managing Challenges of Emerging Economies’.

Distinguished scholars from India and abroad, who spoke at the conference included Dr. Jamshed Bharucha, President, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York; Mr. T V Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services;  and Dr. Indira J. Parikh, Founder-President, FLAME; Dr. Mawdudur Rahman, Professor of Accounting, Suffolk University; Dr. Morris McInnes, Associate Dean, Sawyer Business School, Suffolk; Dr. Srikant M Datar, Arthur Lowes Dickinson Professor of Accounting, Harvard Business School;  Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Director, Symbiosis Institute; Dr. V. G. Narayanan,  Professor of Business Administration & Unit Head of Accounting and Management, Harvard Business School; Dr. Janice C Griffith, University Vice President Academic Affairs, Professor of Law, Suffolk University; and Dr. G Raghuram, Professor, Public Systems Group, IIMA.

All the speakers were unanimous in their view on sharing knowledge among developed and developing countries and said that it was the only way to cope with the challenges in the emerging economies.

The forum discussed contemporary issues in Knowledge Globalization that influence Business, Education, Government, Society, and the Economy. The speakers deliberated on the knowledge optimization for sectors like Healthcare, Infrastructure, Human Development, and Education in developing countries versus developed countries.

Industry experts also shared their corporate mantras and experience on the challenges that corporate leaders face in the emerging economies like India today.

Speakers from corporate world included R Dhamodaran, Director, Smarter Planet Solutions, IBM; Shri S B Dangayach, MD, Sintex; P R Joshi – President Group HR & Corporate Communications, Zydus Cadill; Mr. Ravi Pandit, CEO, PIT Cummins; Cyrus Karkaria, President, Lupin Ltd, Pune; and G V Prasad, Vice Chairman and CEO, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory, Hyderabad.

Knowledge Globalization Conference encourages initiatives that participate, provide, and promote the process of knowledge sharing to benefit economic and social development for countries in continents like Asia and Europe.

The three day Knowledge Globalization Conference 2012 (KGC 2012) was concluded on January 7, 2012 at ‘FLAME’, an Educational Institution for Liberal Education, Business, Communication Studies and Performing Arts in Pune.
