Malaysia - Master plan in the works to bridge gap between rural and urban schools

KUALA LUMPUR - The Education Ministry will come up with a master plan to transform the rural schools in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the objective was to narrow the gap between the rural and urban schools in the education system.

To be spearheaded by Education director-general Datuk Seri Abdul Ghafar Mahmud, the report detailing the intervention to transform the schools will be ready by end of the year, said Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, during his visit to SM Sains Alam in Cheras here Wednesday.
