Vietnam - Number of dissolved enterprises doubles in Jan-Feb


During the first two months of 2012, at least 1,664 dissolved enterprises and 1,595 others have been forced to stop operation in Vietnam, Vietnam Investment Review cited data of Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Business Registration Management Agency.

According to the agency, the number of dissolved companies in February doubled against January’s figure.

In 2011, at least 7,611 bankrupt enterprises were reported officially on the national business registration information system.

Experts of the agency assessed a number in the group of 53,792 firms stopping operation or paying duties in 2011 are changing to the first group of bankrupt ones.

Therefore, the figures are considered as the surface of difficult business situation at this time. Mr Tran Quoc Manh, Vice President of the HCM City Handicraft and Wood Industry Association (HAWA).
