Vietnam - PM Dung works on Hanoi zoning plan

PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Saturday worked with leaders of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee on implementing a zoning plan for the city’s development until 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The planning of the capital city’s technical urban infrastructure is progressing with a focus on developing five satellite urban areas involving six major sectors: industry, trade, healthcare, education, agriculture and water supply.

During the working session, representatives from central ministries and sectors contributed their opinions on the zoning plan for both sides of the 12km Noi Bai-Nhat Tan expressway, which is regarded as an international gateway and a highlight of modern Hanoi.

In his speech, PM Dung praised Hanoi’s efforts to carry out the plan after it was approved and asked municipal leaders to manage the zoning properly and effectively in according to the adopted plan.

He underlined the need to integrate the Hanoi zoning plan with the master development plan for the northern Red River Delta and ensure a green environment.

PM Dung also asked Hanoi to propose specific mechanisms to rapidly implement the plan by mobilizing all available resources and choosing reliable, capable investors.

The PM stressed that Hanoi should coordinate closely with the Ministry of Transport to ensure the progress on the construction of a new Noi Bai airport terminal, the Noi Bai-Nhat Tan expressway and the Nhat Tan Bridge.
