Canada - Canada to grant Vietnamese students scholarships

VietNamNet Bridge – The Canadian embassy in Hanoi announced on October 17 that Canada will offer a number of scholarships in 2012 to candidates from developing countries, including Vietnam in 2012.

Specific awards include the Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program (CFSP), the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) and the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships.
The CFSP, sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), is for officials who must demonstrate how the scholarship will help them contribute to their organizations.
The 3-year CGS, worth CAD$50,000 per year, provide scholarships to world-class doctoral students, supporting those who demonstrate a high standard of academic achievement and leadership skills in graduate studies in social sciences and the humanities, natural sciences, engineering, and health.
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded to the very best postdoctoral researchers, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to economic, social and research-based growth in the country.  The fellowships are worth CAD70,000 per year, for a period of two years.
All applicants, in collaboration with their proposed host institutions, are required to submit a complete electronic application, including referee assessments, via ResearchNet on or before November 2, 2011.
