Bali’s provincial government says it will build an
international hospital for residents entitled to free healthcare and for
foreigners.
Governor Made Mangku Pastika
said in Denpasar on Wednesday that the planned “tourist hospital” would be
built to accommodate an increasing number of tourists, antaranews.com reported.
The administration will
allocate up to 300 billion rupiah (US$33 million) and 3 hectares in a strategic
location for the project.
“The hospital will provide an
international standard of healthcare for the people, especially those who have
references from community health centers or regency hospitals,” Pastika said.
Local residents were currently
treated at busy Sanglah General Hospital, he said, which as a regional hospital
accepts patients from East and West Nusa Tenggara.
