Brunei - Audience to US Navy Secretary

AN AUDIENCE was granted by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) to the US Secretary of Navy (SECNAV) Ray Mabus, yesterday at the Istana Nurul Iman.

The three-day working visit the Honourable Secretary Ray Mabus aims to strengthen ties and defence cooperation between the Sultanate and the United States. Both countries have defence relations in the form of exchange visits, joint exercises, training and dialogue.

According to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), His Majesty and His Excellency the US Secretary of Navy both showed satisfaction with the close and cordial defence relations between the countries.

Also present during the audience was the Commander of RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin; His Excellency Daniel Luke Shields, Ambassador of the US; Permanent Secretary at the PMO, Hj Hamdan Hj Abu Bakar; and Col (Rtd) Pg Dato Paduka Hj Azmansham Pg Hj Mohamad, Acting Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) at the Defence Ministry.
